Annals of Intensive Care

Annals of Intensive Care is an online peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing knowledge and practice in the care of critically ill patients. The journal publishes peer-reviewed original research, comprehensive reviews, and educational content relevant to intensive care, emergency medicine, and perioperative care. Aimed at a multidisciplinary readership – including physicians, fellows, nurses, and allied health professionals – the journal fosters evidence-based dialogue to support clinical decision-making and improve patient outcomes.Experimental studies, as well as research involving paediatrics and neonates, remain within scope and are not outright excluded.Key objectives of Annals of Intensive Care are:To serve clinicians, researchers, and allied professionals by publishing original research, reviews, and clinical insights in the field of critical care medicine.To promote multidisciplinary collaboration and knowledge exchange that enhances the care of critically ill patients across various settings.To encourage investigation into acute care processes, innovations in diagnosis, monitoring and therapy, and strategies for improving outcomes in intensive care units.To foster continuous learning and evidence-based practice through high-quality educational content and consensus guidelines.To provide a platform for evaluating systems of care, resource allocation, and performance metrics relevant to intensive and high-dependency care.To support equity in critical care by highlighting disparities in access, outcomes, and care delivery across populations and regions.To align with global health priorities and contribute to sustainable, patient-centred, and ethically grounded intensive care practices.
