Advances in Forestry Science

Mission and Identity: Advances in Forestry Science is a peer-reviewed, open access electronic journal published quarterly by the Graduate Program in Forestry and Environmental Sciences at the Federal University of Mato Grosso (UFMT). Our primary mission is to advance and disseminate original scientific knowledge across the full spectrum of forestry and environmental sciences. We aim to foster innovation, critical discussion, and more profound understanding within these fields, serving as a platform for researchers and practitioners worldwide. Open Access Policy: The journal provides immediate open access to all its content on the principle that making research freely available supports a greater global exchange of knowledge and accelerates scientific discovery. Scope: Advances in Forestry Science welcomes significant contributions covering theoretical and applied research in diverse areas related to forest ecosystems and the environment. Topics include, but are not limited to: Forest Ecology and Biology Silviculture and Forest Management (including sustainable and ecosystem-based approaches) Forest Inventory, Mensuration, and Modeling Wood Science, Forest Products, and Technology Agroforestry Systems Forest Soils and Hydrology Forest Conservation, Restoration Ecology, and Biodiversity Management Forest Economics, Policy, and Social Sciences Climate Change Impacts, Adaptation, and Mitigation in Forest Ecosystems Remote Sensing, GIS, and Geomatics applied to Forestry and Environmental Monitoring Environmental Science focused on forest health, pollution impacts, and conservation strategies Types of Manuscripts: The journal publishes the following types of manuscripts: Original Research Articles: Presenting substantial new findings based on empirical research. (Primary focus) Review Articles: Comprehensive and critical syntheses of existing knowledge on specific topics within the journal's scope. Short Communications: Describing new methods, techniques, or equipment relevant to the field. We strongly encourage authors to leverage the benefits of preprints! Sharing your manuscript on a preprint server (like SciELO Preprints, bioRxiv, EarthArXiv, etc.) before submission to Advances in Forestry Science is an excellent way to quickly communicate your results, gain valuable feedback, and document your discoveries.
