The research journal Acta Linguistica Lithuanica has a clear mission in the context of both Lithuanian and foreign journals on Lithuanian language studies: it mostly publishes articles on Lithuanian and Baltic linguistics, comparative and general linguistics problems, as well as the most recent linguistic trends and methods. The journal contributes to and promotes the formation of new research directions, as its articles discuss and solve issues of both synchronic and diachronic linguistics.
